A referral agent is a licensed real estate professional who doesn't actively practice real estate but keeps their license active by hanging it with a referral brokerage. They earn income by referring buyers and sellers to active agents and receiving a referral fee when the deal closes.
Do I have to pay MLS or Realtor® dues?
No. As a referral agent with Grimaldi Referral Realty, you are not required to join the MLS, a local Realtor® board, or pay any association dues. This can save you $1,000–$2,500+ per year.
How do I transfer my license to Grimaldi Referral Realty?
After you sign up and pay, we'll contact you directly to initiate the license transfer through the Florida DBPR. The process takes just a few days and we guide you through every step.
Can I refer clients outside of Florida?
Yes! Your Florida license allows you to earn referral fees on transactions in all 50 states. You simply refer the client to a licensed agent in their state and collect your fee when the deal closes.
How much can I earn from referrals?
A typical referral fee is 25–30% of the buyer's or seller's agent commission. On a $400,000 home at 2.5% commission, a 25% referral fee would be $2,500 — and you'd keep $2,250 on our 90/10 split.
What if my license is currently inactive?
We can help you reactivate an inactive Florida license before transferring it to us. Contact us and we'll walk you through the process.
What happens when my license needs to be renewed?
We track your renewal date and send you reminders well in advance. Florida licenses require 14 hours of continuing education every two years. We'll remind you of the deadline and your progress so you're never caught off guard.
